The RPM Q2 16 mm is a performance paddle designed for players looking for a combination of power, stability, and consistency in all phases of the game.

Developed in collaboration with paddle engineer and analyst John Kew, the Q2 launches RPM’s new Q series with a more refined approach to full foam. Its goal: to provide a more predictable response across the entire face while retaining enough power to attack effectively.

Controlled power and superior stability

The Q2 uses a multi-zone full foam construction with materials adjusted for different areas of the paddle.

By modulating the density, firmness, and rebound of the foam, RPM seeks to offer:

  • excellent torsional stability;

  • a more generous sweet spot;

  • a more uniform response on off-center hits;

  • a firm, connected feel;

  • accessible power without unpredictable behavior.

The result is a very well-rounded paddle, capable of being aggressive from the baseline while remaining stable in fast exchanges at the kitchen.

CarbonBite surface

The Q2 is equipped with FRICTION CarbonBite technology, developed by RPM Labs.

This carbon fiber surface aims to maximize friction between the ball and the paddle to generate significant spin, whether on topspins, slices, or roll volleys.

CarbonBite provides excellent bite on the ball while maintaining good surface durability.

Multi-Zone Hybrid Core

The heart of the Q2 consists of a fully molded EPP core, integrating 3 mm channels directly into the foam.

These channels allow for controlled flex without compromising the structural integrity of the core.

Unlike incisions made post-production, this molded construction aims to maintain a more homogeneous response and reduce the risk of dead zones or hot spots.

TPU inserts for more stability

TPU inserts are positioned at 3 and 9 o'clock on the perimeter of the paddle.

Denser and more elastic than traditional EVA foam, TPU helps increase torsional stability and widen the effective sweet spot.

On off-center hits, the paddle resists twisting more effectively and maintains a more stable response.

TPE inserts in the handle

RPM also uses high-density TPE inserts in the throat area of the paddle.

This construction helps to:

  • reduce vibrations;

  • maintain a softer feel;

  • lower the balance point;

  • improve maneuverability;
